According to the 1987 Constitution, Article IV, Section 1:
Section 1. The following are citizens of the Philippines:
Those who are citizens of the Philippines at the time of the adoption of this Constitution;
Those whose fathers or mothers are citizens of the Philippines;
Those born before January 17, 1973, of Filipino mothers, who elect Philippine citizenship upon reaching the age of majority; and
Those who are naturalized in accordance of law.

According to Wiki: "Racism" and "racial discrimination" are often used to describe discrimination on an ethnic or cultural basis, independent of their somatic (i.e., "racial") differences. According to the United Nations conventions, there is no distinction between the term racial discrimination and ethnicity discrimination.
Honestly, I'm not a fan of the Azkals and sexual harassment is a serious offense that must not be tolerated. Clavio's official statement insists that he was talking about the harassment case. But when I watched the video on Youtube, in fact, most of his comments actually had nothing to do with it. The case has no connection with the Azkals' nationality.
Clavio's comments were sad to say, racist, and racism is always a very sensitive subject in any country. Just because someone only has one Filipino parent and wasn't born in the Philippines doesn't mean he's not Filipino, and there are only two Azkal players involved in the case, but he was treating the team as a whole. It was like the whole team committed the harassment. Their Filipino parents were actually OFWs and it was such a shame to hear those harsh words from Clavio.
Being a TV journalist, he should have been responsible with his choice of words since he is on live TV and the episode cannot be edited unless it was recorded. Journalists also have their own code of ethics and, other than freedom of speech, there is also such a thing as responsible journalism.
One more thing, he himself impregnated a rape victim and refused to marry her, so accusations coming from Clavio against those Azkals involved is just funny and unbelievable...
